Oh my friend,
I watch you each day,
I envy your strength,
I watch in amazement,
For you go out on ski's,
And I've learned so much,
For you are the winners,
Yet another new morning,
For the pain never stops,
Oh my friend,
But I know we can make it,

ABOUT THIS POEM:
I wrote the above poem about my friend Nathan.
Everyone who meets him likes him out of respect, not out of pity.......
It hurts me to see,
The pain you have,
And the agony.
In awe and respect,
As you battle this foe,
That will not neglect.
That you battle each day,
With your head held so high,
Yet at your side in that way.
At all that you do,
And to tell you the truth,
There's nothing that you can't do.
On tubes and on skates,
As well as on hunting trips,
And parties, and dates.
About what a disability is,
And what it is not,
As you send it amiss.
That live it each day,
To challenge it boldly,
And toss the hurt away.
And your monster's still there,
And again you plow through it,
Although fully aware.
It never goes away,
I wish I could take it,
Sometimes, if even for only a day.
It hurts to see,
The pain you have,
And the agony.
Together, you and me,
Friends for life,
The way it should always be........
March 22\98
He has had dystonia since he was a teenager.
There is nothing he can't or won't do as far as having fun goes.
He amazes all of his friends how he doesn't let this crippling disease
stop him from enjoying life as long as he can....a lesson to us all.....
